A headmistress of District Attock has been suspended because of discriminatory behaviour with a student belonging to minority.
Sources stated that the headmistress’ suspension has occurred on the direction of Human Rights (HR) Minister Dr Shireen Mazari.
The HR minister tweeted, “Acted on a complaint of horrific discrimination against a child. Teacher has been suspended and an inquiry has started for a final action. After District Education Officer visited the concerned school in Attock and met with the students and teachers. Even one such case is one too many.”
Sharjeel, a minority student, was barred from drinking water from schools taps during school hours by the headmistress. The student’s parent submitted an application to the minister and requested to launch inquiry for the violation of Article 27 by the school.
