Girl abducted from Sahiwal recovered; suspect held

LAHORE   -  Traffic police on Thursday recovered a 17-year-old girl, who was brought to Lahore after being abducted from Sahiwal, near Naka Punjab Society factory area.

According to police, a suspect named Mushtaq allegedly lured a 17-year-old girl from Sahiwal to Lahore in a rickshaw. Patrol Officer Jamil stopped the rickshaw for issuance of traffic tickets near Naka Punjab Society factory area. Jamil became suspicious of Mushtaq when the girl, sitting in the rear section of the rickshaw, started to cry after seeing a police officer. She told him the whole story. Meanwhile, the accused tried to flee the scene, but the traffic wardens got a hold of him.

He was handed over to Lahore police. The girl’s heirs were also informed of her recovery. The Lahore CTO announced reward to the traffic wardens for saving the girl.
