Mardan - A delegation of the Consulate General of Russia visited Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) Mardan.
The delegation included Andrey G. Fesyun, Consul Director Consulate General of the Russian Federation Russian Centre for Science and Culture, Muhammad Arsalah Khan, Honorary Consul General of Russian Federation, Chairman Standing Committee on Commerce Senator Zeeshan Khanzada.
The delegation members met Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zahoor-ul-Haq who gave a detailed briefing about the university. The VC briefed the delegation about the recent world ranking of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. The Russian delegation visited different parts of the university and also inaugurated a painting exhibition of the Fine Arts College students in the museum.
Speaking on the occasion, Honorary Consul General of the Russian Consulate KP Muhammad Arsala Khan said that the purpose of establishment of the Russian Consulate KP was to develop relation between the people of the province and Russia. He said the consulate is organising various programmes for this purpose and free scholarships for Pakistani students to study at the best universities in Russia and to get acquainted with education and culture.
