Balochistan government Tuesday sacked Labour Minister Maulvi Ghulam Sarwar, reported a private TV channel while quoting sources. The Supreme Court had disqualified the minister last week, on the basis of his educational documents lacking authenticity after the Higher Education Commission (HEC) told the court that the certificate of the minister from a seminary was not equivalent to a graduation degree. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry struck down the notification of Sarwars election as MPA from PB-15 Musakhail and directed the Election Commission to conduct by-poll in the constituency. Following the development, the Election Commission has announced the by-poll schedule while polling would be held on November 11.
