LAHORE - Jamat-e-Islami will hold Ashra-e-Yakjehti-e-Kashmir (Ten-day programme) has started from Tuesday to condemn the Indian atrocities being inflicted upon the innocent people of Kashmir. JI General Secretary Liaqat Baloch announced this while addressing a Press conference on Tuesday. He said during these ten days seminars, conferences and rallies would be arranged to express solidarity with the Kashmiri Muslims. H said Indian armed forces had crossed all the limits of brutality while the silence of the human rights organisations and international community over the issues was really meaningful. He said Indian armed forces were doing the same job in Kashmir what the NATO forces committing at Afghanistan and the Israeli forces doing at Palestine. Baloch said Indian forces had killed over 120 persons during the last three months, while over 7000 Muslim youths and the political workers were detained and kept at different Indian jails. He said the United Nations should take serious notice of the situation, as this is the time of its intervention to solve the issue of Kashmir. He said that the right of self-determination should be given to the people of Kashmir according to the resolutions of the UNO. He also said Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) should also convene its meeting on the issue and to put pressure on Indian government to stop all such brutal activities against innocent Muslims. Responding to a question, he said that the unfortunately out government had badly failed to establish a consensus over the issue of Afghanistan, Kashmir and floods. These were the factors that have also become a threat to the democracy as well, he added. Baloch announced that the JI would continue its support to the people of Kashmir till the materialization of their dream about an independent homeland for them.
