LAHORE - The Government College University (GCU) Lahore has clean swept the Inter-collegiate Gymnastic Championship 2013 organised by the Board Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore. The team GCU, comprised of M Fazal, Qasim Muhstaq, M Usman, Jameel Mehtab and Ghulam Hassan, emerged triumphant in all the five competitions of the championship and secured overall 88.75 points. Punjab College of Commerce stood second with just 49.9 points while Islamia Civil Lines College Lahore secured third. The team GCU secured overall six gold and five silver medals in the event. M Fazal of GCU was declared the best gymnast. GCU VC Prof Dr M Khaleequr Rahman congratulated Director Sports Khadim Ali Khan and the university’s gymnastic team on their extraordinary performance in the event. –Staff Reporter
