Kidnappers gang luring boys through Facebook busted

After Karachi, facebook is also being used for kidnapping in Punjab as well as the police on Saturday claimed to have busted two gangs involved in alluring boys through social networking site Facebook to kidnap them for ransom.
The police have arrested 11 members of the two gang including two women and recovered huge amount of cash, vehicles, cellphones and illegal arms from their custody.
This was disclosed by City Police Officer Raja Riffat Mukhtar while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.  Describing details, he told that on August 22, accused Adil Akbar along with his accomplices Shiza Adil (wife of ringleader), Muhammad Amir, Umer, and Daud abducted 23-year-old Ahsan Waqar and demanded Rs17 million ransom from his family. After receiving cash, the kidnapers released the abductees. Later, on September 14, Mohsin Waqar, the brother of abductees informed the police about this incident. After registration of an FIR, a police team was formulated to arrest the accused. At last the police hectic efforts helped materialised the arrested of the accused. The police also Rs9 million cash, 2 cars, cellphones and two pistols from the arrested accused.
The CPO claimed that during preliminary investigation, the accused revealed that they had been used Shiza Adil for abducting targeted people. She first made friendship with Ahsan Waqar through facebook and then called him to a desert place for a meeting. The kidnapers also told the police that they had also received Rs10 million as ransom from the families of  two other abductees identified as Ahmed Raza and Amir Sohail and FIR of the incidents had also been registered with the Kamoke Saddr Police.
The CPO further told that the police had also arrested six accused namely Muhammad Akmal, Ashiq, Kashif, Hadayat Ullah, Zafar Iqbal and Mehwish, involved in kidnapped and murdered of seven-year-old child. He said that Habibur Rehman resident of Shaheen Abad filed an application that his seven-year-old son Attiqur Rehman had gone missing.
A team under the supervision of SP City was constituted to locate the child. The police launched investigation and traced out the culprits and arrested them. The kidnapers told that they had murdered the child after receiving ransom.
