Lawyers’ protest against police continues

The lawyers continued their strike on fourth day against the Rahim Yar Khan Police misbehaviour with senior lawyers and to press their demand for the transfer of RY Khan DPO. No lawyer appeared in any court, bring the courts proceedings to a halt.
On the occasion, Tehsil Bar Association President Nazar Hussain Aslam demanded the Chief Justice Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the incident wherein former Punjab Bar Council Vice President Malik Mumtaz Mustafa was manhandled by the RY Khan City Police personnel. He demanded immediate suspension of the DPO Sohail Zafar Chattha and the SHO concerned.  Meanwhile, the Sangla Hill Bar Association observed strike and boycotted courts against the police for thrashing former Punjab Bar Council Vice Chairman in Rahim Yar Khan.  They did not appear in the courts and held a meeting where they expressed solidarity with the senior lawyers.
On the occasion, addressing the lawyers, Advocate Muhammad Rashid Guman, Ali Bilal Madni, Sheraz Mustafa Kahlon and others pledged to protect the rule of law and did not hesitate from offering any sacrifice for rights of the black coats. They demanded stern action against the DPO and other officials involved in the incident.
