Islamabad - Anti-Narcotics Force has seized three tons of narcotics worth Rs5.75 billion in a country-wide swoop.

ANF has conducted 8 successful operations at Faisalabad, Lahore, Khanewal, Hyderabad and Pishin and recovered massive quantity of drugs including 2.6 Tons of Opium, 606 of Charas, and 2 Kilograms of Heroin. During these operations, ANF has arrested 8 drug smugglers and seized 5 vehicles. Most of the seized drug was destined abroad. The value of recovered drug is approximately Rs5.75 in international market.

According to details, ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence led operation and seized 2558 Kilograms of Opium. The drug was contained in 85 apple boxes and was hidden at an uninhabited site in the cuttings of mountain terrain of Killi Sardar Kamal Khan, Tehsil Bashore, District Pishin.

As per reports, the drug was destined abroad and was placed for handing over to another Narco-Gang for onward transportation via Pasni.

ANF Lahore Road Check Team seized a Truck No. LES-3151 near Usman Petroleum, Tehsil Jahanian, Khanewal - Bahawalpur Road, District Khanewal and recovered 280 Kilograms of Charas from the truck. Two drug smugglers Syed Aqeel Anjam r/o Chakwal and Muhammad Akram r/o Sanghar were taken into custody. As per reports, the drug was being smuggled to Sindh for local use.

ANF Lahore Road Check Team intercepted a Toyota XLI Car No. LED-7605 near Shahbaz Petroleum, Tehsil Jahanian, Khanewal - Bahawalpur Road, District Khanewal and recovered 237.6 Kilograms of Charas and 5 Kilograms of Opium from the secret cavities of the car.

Two drug carriers Shah Abid Khan Afridi of Kohat and Syed Muhammad Zahir Shah of Charsada were taken into custody at the spot. As per reports, the drug was being transported to Sindh for local use. ANF Lahore Road Check Team intercepted a Toyota Primio Car No. LA-975 near Usman PSO Petrol Pump, Tehsil Jahanian, Khanewal - Bahawalpur Road, District Khanewal and recovered 78 Kilograms of Charas concealed in secret cavities of the car.

A drug carrier namely Walayat Khan of Peshawar was apprehended at the spot. As per initial reports, the drug was being carried to Sindh for local consumption. ANF Lahore Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki Mehran Car No. W-6404-Sindh near main Motorway Interchange, Faisalabad and recovered 7.2 Kilograms of Charas and 1.2 Kilograms of Opium concealed in it. A drug carrier Farman Ullah Khan r/o Peshawar was also taken into custody. He was proceeding to Faisalabad City for delivery of drugs. After initial investigations, a drug recipient Rasheed Ahmed of Faislabad was also arrested while traveling on a motor cycle No. FDQ-6515 near Post Office, Railway Station, Faisalabad.

ANF Lahore on a pursuance of information intercepted a parcel at DHL, Cargo Office, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore and recovered 960 Grams of Heroin concealed in a badminton racket. The parcel was booked by Atif of Sialkot at DHL Courier Service Office, Paris Road Sialkot and was intended to be received by Nujood Valhalla, Inn Road, Toronto, Canada.

ANF Lahore seized a parcel from DHL Office, Gulberg, Lahore and recovered 870 Grams of Heroin contained in a pair of boxing gloves. The parcel was booked at APX Logistics Office, Silakot and was intended for Canada.

ANF Karachi detained an accused Khadim Machi of Hyderabad near Fatah Chowk, Hyderabad City and recovered 3 Kilograms of Charas from his personal possession. As per initial investigations, the accused is a local drug supplier and was going to deliver drug to a local peddler. All cases have been registered at ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.
