Peshawar to have Indus Hospital

PESHAWAR - A formal decision has been made to establish well-equipped Indus Hospital in Peshawar where every patient will have quality treatment and medicines free of cost.
Besides catering treatment facilities in all disciplines and diseases, research activities will also be carried out in all sections of the hospital. KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak chaired a meeting in this regard here at his office that took stock of the progress so far made in the matter and necessary decisions were taken.
The CEO of the hospital, authorities of health department and office-bearers of the organisations of traders and business community also attended the meeting.
They termed the establishment of Indus Hospital in Peshawar a good omen for the locals and assured its management all-out cooperation in making this humanitarian effort a complete success.
The CEO of IH told the meeting that soon after provision of the land to be arranged by the provincial government construction work will be started while the hospital after completion will be operated by the administration of Indus chain of hospitals.
Pervez Khattak during the meeting directed for allowing the 20 kanals of land adjacent to the 80-kanal proposed land to the hospital as well to enable it establish a full-fledged neurosurgery department over it. He, however, asked for searching suitable site for the Institute of Neurosurgery that is reflected in the ADP.
The CEO of Indus Hospital told on this occasion that design for the hospital has been prepared and construction will be started as soon as the government provides the required land for it that will be completed within one and half years. The hospital, he said, will provide free services to the patients and work in automated manner due to computerisation.
The chief minister asked the health department authorities to ink a formal agreement with the hospital administration for guarantee of providing free services to all the patients and taking the hospital back in government custody if complaints of charging fees from any patient is received.
 However he also acknowledged that such bitter and extreme moment will never come as he personally knew its services and level of dedication in Karachi based hospital.
