Pakistan is an unfortunate country, because despite having the largest coal reserves in the world, it is not producing electricity through coal. The increasing demand for energy is not met by supply, which is getting thinner day by day, and is creating chaos for the people and the economy. The ‘Thar Coal Project’ is the best option to be adopted for overcoming this crucial problem. Thar coal reserves have the capability to produce 50,000 MW of energy which can easily cope with the difficulty we are facing. This will take a one-time initial expense, and as a result the country can become self-sufficient in power production and hundreds of thousands of jobs can be created. If this project is taken seriously, our power problems of the next 50 years, will be solved. This will obviously strengthen our economy and energy security as well.
