They said the superintendent Adiala Jail and his other staff are doing nothing to stop the practice that might cause some serious disaster.
A relative of an under-trial prisoner told this scribe that the prisoner makes calls to his family on daily basis after paying Rs 5,000 monthly to a criminal who had a mobile phone in jail. When contacted, Deputy Superintendent Jail, M Akram summoned the staff deputed on scanner machine and directed them to scan all the things of prisoners carefully. He said that police along with Pakistan Army have conducted many search operations in the jail but they found nothing illegal.
