Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has left for Turkey amid tight security on Thursday. Heavy police and Rangers contingents were deployed at Jinnah International Airport. Bomb disposal squad checked the parking of airport before arrival of chief justice. During the visit, the chief justice will sign a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey and Supreme Court of Pakistan with the consent of the Government of Pakistan. The Constitutional Court of Turkey has also signed an MOU on bilateral cooperation with the supreme courts/constitutional courts of a number of friendly countries. The visiting chief justices of different counties will also sign the MoU, so Pakistan having very good friendly relations with Turkey also enters into such cooperative arrangement under the MOU.
