A deadline set by Tehrik Nifaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad to set up Darul Qaza in Malakand division is going to end today. Sufi Muhammad set April 23 deadline for the government to set up Darul Qaza (appellate court) and appoint Qazis in the region. He said Ulema would be the Qazis (judges) of the Darul Qaza and only they would have administrative control over the Malakand judiciary. Earlier, Sufi Muhammad said those who called the Supreme Court and high courts Sharai were rebels against Islam. He warned authorities of protests if the government failed to set up the courts in Malakand division that was agreed upon in a peace deal. Thousands of under trial cases goes into pending due to closure of courts in district Buner on Thursday. The courts have been shut down after April 23 deadline given by Tehrik Nifaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad for the establishment of Darul Qaza and appointment of Qazi. The people of Bunar appealed the government to take immediate notice of the situation.
