Karachi (PPI) - Excise Police Karachi South seized 2,000 litres of homemade liquor and arrested one here on Wednesday. Excise team headed by Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) South Shaukat Bukhari and Inspector Khadim Hussain conducted raid on a home-based factory used for the manufacturer of liquor in Labor Square, Bhains Colony, Malir and recovered 2000 litres of home made liquor. Police also arrested factory owner Haji Ghous Muhammad, besides recovering poisonous chemicals and other articles used in wine making. During the initial interrogation, accused confessed that his agents supply the wine to liquor dens across the city. Police have registered a case against accused and started further interrogation. Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla appreciated the progress of raiding team and instructed for accelerating action against illegal wine distilleries.
