ISLAMABAD - The city police booked more than 300 protesting clerks for breaching law and violating section 144 here on Thursday. All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) staged a protest rally, which was attended by hundreds of clerks. The clerks were protesting against unprecedented inflation, urging the concerned authorities to follow the recommendations of Pay and Pension Committee and raise their salaries. The protesters wanted to go towards Parliament House but police stopped them at D Chowk. However, participants of rally resisted. According to police, the clerks ransacked barricade wires and tried to obstruct police from performing duties. Later, the Secretariat Police registered a case (No 63) under sections 188/186 341/353 427 against the 11 nominated and 300 to 350 unidentified people.
