ISLAMABAD (Online) Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday said that President Asif Ali Zardari has violated the 18th Amendment by promulgating 12 ordinances. Talking to media men outside the Parliament, he said his party would protest in the Lower House against promulgation of ordinances by President Asif without approval of National Assembly and Senate. Under the 18th amendment, he said, the President cannot promulgate any ordinance without getting approval from Upper and Lower house. The ordinances issued by President are against 18th Amendment, he said. Promulgation of Defense Housing Authority Ordinance was a joke with 18th Amendment, Nisar said, adding that the rulers are not ready to mend their minds at any cost. Government cannot allow any housing authority to establish its state within a state, he said. Rights of common people are being oppressed, he said. We would not allow anyone to take law in his hands, he said. The PML-N can also challenge promulgation of ordinances in Supreme Court of Pakistan, he warned. The military leadership should also review matters of DHA, he said.
