OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) will complete its 50 years in May 2012. The concluding ceremony of the golden jubilee year will be held in May, 2012 which will be attended by the royal colleges of UK, Canada, and Australia including other royal colleges of the world. Prof Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, President, CPSP, along with Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, vice president, Prof Tariq Mahmood Khan, vice president and Prof Syed Tipu Sultan, convener of golden jubilee celebrations told in a press conference that golden jubilee of the college will be celebrated at the four provincial headquarters and Karachi as well. The joint golden jubilee ceremonies at Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad centres will be attended by the delegates of prestigious medical institutions from Saarc countries, whereas royal colleges of UK, Canada, Australia and other royal colleges of the world will attend this ceremony at CPSP headquarters, Karachi. An international medical conference will also be conducted on this occasion. Chaudhry told that CPSP was the second institution after Canada offering specialisation in 67 disciplines. Along with providing training to more than 90 percent fellows and trainees, college is also providing effective monitoring. All 13 regional centers are video linked and centres in Nepal and Saudi Arabia are well coordinated and working effectively.
