OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal on Friday said that the Punjab police department will have to get rid of corrupt officers/officials so as to provide speedy justice, curb crimes and promote better image of police. He was presiding over a meeting attended by the capital city police officer and the regional police officers from Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sahewal, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpure at the Punjab police headquarters. The police chief directed the RPOs to take strict disciplinary and legal action against the police officials who were involved in corruption. He also directed the Lahore CCPO and the RPOs to immediately arrest the accused of heinous crimes like kidnapping, dacoity and murder. Javed Iqbal further urged the RPOs to expedite investigation into all the cases pertaining to terrorism.
