OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Friday disposed of a writ petition filed by the PCS officers seeking cancellation of the case against them observing, challan of the case is before trial court as such proprietary demands that petitioners prove their innocence there. The court disposed of the case after a law officer pointed out that police had submitted challan of the case before the trial court as such FIR against the officers, could not be cancelled at this stage. Petitioners through counsel Asghar Ali Gill argued that a totally baseless and false FIR has been registered against them as they did nothing what has been alleged in the case. He said the PSC officers were protesting for the acceptance of their legitimate rights and demands and in that course they did nothing which could be termed unconstitutional or anti-state. He said PCS officers have been targeted and victimised as such the cases against them merit to be dismissed. Around 150 PCS officers were booked last month on the charges of instigating others to protest, distribution of provocative pamphlets, terrorism etc. The complaint of the FIR was lodged by a DSP. The petitioners are on bail in the case.
