Taking to media persons here on Friday, the PML-N KP spokesman said that Awami National Party (ANP) had promised to provide free of cost 100 units of electricity to people in the province but it increased the duration of loadshedding from 16 to 18 hours on daily basis. Due to the prolonged loadshedding, he said that entire business activities had come to a standstill, which had also led to excessive unemployment in the province. It was duty of the ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan to devise plan for attracting foreign investors at least to install power generation units for meeting the energy requirements at the provincial level, he said. Criticising the ANP leadership, he said that it had failed to represent the people at international level, saying that the party had relations only with India, which had nothing to do with the countrys interests. Hoti appreciated Shahbaz Sharifs visit to China. and then holding a seminar at Dubai was aimed at attracting the business community to invest in Punjab. He said there were many spots in the province, particularly in Mardan, where power generation units could be installed and generate billions of rupees for the public exchequer and meeting the power requirements as well but it needed will on part of the rulers. He also held the government responsible for the drone attacks, which had failed to take a firm stand against the attack. He said that in Iraq the US paid from 1000 dollars to 50000 dollars as compensation to the heirs of those killed in the war but in our country thousands of people were killed in the drone attacks but no compensation was paid so far. During the three years tenure of the ruling clique, he said corruption had increased manifold, as the rulers were not ready to take step without kickbacks. The rulers, he said were bound to ensure good governance, stop nepotism and focus on public welfare works. About participation in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf sit in against drone attacks he said his party would not participate because his party had a clear policy on the issue and had always opposed the attacks at all forums. When asked about governments offer to PML-Q for joining the federal government, he said that it would be like sailing in a sinking boat, as the government was not interested in the PML-Q but it wanted to pass its budget.
