‘Superheroes’ to be waxed

Madame Tussauds New York is to unveil an exhibit based on Marvel Comics superheroes later this month.
The show will feature wax likenesses of iconic characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Hulk to coincide with the cinematic release of The Avengers movie.
Several of the sculptures are based on the Marvel movie universe, such as Chris Evans’s Captain America and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor. An exclusive short film titled Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience will also play at the exhibition.
“From the pages of our comic books to the big screen and now live in wax – it’s a great thing to see some of our best-loved Marvel characters come to life in this fun and interactive way,” said Joe Quesada, chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment.
“For more than 70 years, Marvel has captured the imagination of fans around the world and we’re excited to be working with Madame Tussauds New York to open this amazing experience for everyone to enjoy.” The Marvel Super Heroes exhibit opens at Madame Tussauds New York on April 26. –DS
