Aamir Atlas wins COAS Squash

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's top squash players Aamir Atlas Khan won the 10th Chief of Army Staff Pakistan International Squash Circuit-II Championship after beating Nasir Iqbal in the final here at the Mushaf Mir Squash Complex on Sunday.
Zoya Khalid notched the ladies title after overpowering Siam Shoukat in the final.
Aamir Atlas dominated the final and won the first set 11-7. Aamir raced on to 8-4 lead in the second game but Nasir managed to reduce the gap and levelled the score at 8-all but Aamir managed to win the second game 11-8. Aamir in the deciding game started briskly and took 3-0 lead before Nasir first reduced the margin and then got lead for the first time in the match and at one stage he was leading 7-3 but Nasir had no answer to some aggressive volleys and powerful strokes which Aamir and lost the third game 11-7. 
In the Ladies final, Zoya Khalid overpowered Saima Shoukat 3-2 in a tough contest. Zoya won first game ny 11-5 but Saima won the second game 11-8 and too won the third game by 11-8. Zoya fightback and took the set 12-10 to take match to fifth game. Zoya struggled to beat Saima in final game but at last she won by 13-11.
Lt Gen Khalid Nawaz Khan, Commander 10 Corps was the chief guest at the final and gave away a shield and a cash prize of $1,805 to Aamir Atlas Khan while Nasir Iqbal was awarded a shield and cash prize of $1,235.  Malik Amjad Ali Noon, President Punjab Squash Association, Air Vice Marshal Syed Razi Nawab, SVP PSF, Wing Commander Abdul Wahab Marwat, Honorary Secretary PSF, Qamar Zaman, Pakistan squash head coach Jamshed Gul and former world squash champion Janher Khan were also present at the occasion. Mehreen Amjad Ali Noon was the chief guest at women's final and gave away shield and cash prizes of $400 to champion Zoya Khalid, while Saima Shoukat got shield and cash prize of $280.
Malik Amjad Ali Noon, President Punjab Squash Association gave a shield to chief guest.
