QUETTA – Four people including two members of pro-government Aman force, were killed in separate incidents of landmine explosions in Balochistan on Sunday.

Two people were killed in a landmine explosion in RD 109, a bordering area between Sindh and Balochistan.

According to sources, two villagers were going to Kandhkot when they overstepped a landmine laid by unknown persons. As a result of the explosion, the two were killed on the spot.

Personnel of the law-enforcement agencies rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The bodies were taken to the nearby hospital for autopsy. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

A case had been registered against unknown persons. In a separate incident, two memebers of Aman militia were killed and two others sustained injuries in another landmine explosion in Dera Bugti on Sunday.

A pick-up vehicle carrying some members of the Aman force was patrolling the area when it hit a landmine near Za Mardan village area of Loti Gas Field. Resultantly, two persons were killed on the spot while two others were injured.

Security personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the wounded to Sui hospital. The deceased were identified as Sher Muhammad and Wayzi while injured as Sabo Khan and his 14-year-old grandson.

The local Levies Force has registered a case against unknown culprits and started investigation into the incident.
