Quetta- Lawyers in Quetta clashed with police today, during a protest against alleged police torture on their colleague.
The law practitioners claimed that police pulled a senior lawyer from his car and subjected him to torture in Quetta. Against the incident, a large number of lawyers, most of them carrying sticks in their hands, came out on roads and staged a protest demonstration at Manan Chowk.
The infuriated lawyers blocked the main intersection and pelted police mobiles with stones and resorted to aerial firing, turning the area into a battle field.
The enraged lawyers also damaged windowpanes of several police vans. Scores of lawyers were arrested after scuffle with police during the chaos which last for more than two hours and ended after the two sides held negotiations.
