GCU grads to get exemptions from ACCA papers

LAHORE (PR): The graduates of Government College University Lahore (GCU) are likely to get exemptions from some ACCA papers, besides getting opportunities for financial incentives for the ACCA qualification.

The accord was signed by GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah and ACCA Pakistan Head Sajjeed Aslam at a ceremony at the University’s Syndicate Committee Room.

Sajjeed Aslam, who is also Old Ravian, said that they would review the courses being taught at GCU, adding that in an ideal case, maximum exemption from nine ACCA papers could be granted in line with ACCA’s global accreditation policy.

ICCI, DWE join hands

LAHORE (PR): Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Directorate of Workers Education have entered a mutual agreement of cooperation. Atif Ikram Sheikh, president ICCI, and Dr Tanvir Kayani, Director General, DWE, signed the document. Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Minister of State for CA&DD, also attended the ceremony.

DWE will impart trainings to the workers of small & medium enterprises that will ultimately lead to enhancement to the productivity of these units. Since the workers community is the backbone of any industry or business establishment , the better equipped/trained workers may thus become an asset.

NOWPDP, Shell ink MoU

KARACHI (PR): In a bid to create avenues of employment for persons with disabilities, NOWPDP has signed a MoU with Shell which would enable Shell franchisees (retailers) to hire persons with disabilities as retail site forecourt staff by creating better employment opportunities for them. The main focus of such initiatives is to help foster an enabling environment for these new hires by engaging all stakeholders in sensitizing trainings to help build better work ethos amongst the forecourt staff.

PFC event starts

KARACHI (PR): The three-day exhibition of the Pakistan Furniture Council began on Friday, which enticed visitors with a whopping 20% discount on all purchases made at the event. Huawei revenue generation

LAHORE (PR): According to the recently revealed reports on the last year’s revenue, Huawei has demonstrated overwhelmingly outstanding performance and even it stands out among the world top brands, beating them far behind in the growth rate. Huawei has reaped a 37% increase in the year on year basis revenue generation. That is 395 billion in local currency or $60 billion. Only CNY 36.9 billion among this was the net profit for Huawei, which is again 33% more than the previous year.
