Pakistani Americans contributing to US progress: Aizaz Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Envoy to US Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has attended a community awards luncheon event organised by the United Maryland Muslim Council (UMMC) at Baltimore.

A large number of organisations and individuals performing exemplary community service were recognised and presented awards including a number of prominent Pakistani Americans, said a message received here.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Sen Chris Van Hollen, Congressmen Rep Andre Carson, Rep John Sarbanes and Rep Dutch Ruppersberger along with several elected representatives from Maryland were present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Aizaz said it was a matter of great pride to see so many Pakistani Americans doing well and contributing to the development of their home state Maryland as well as the United States.

The Ambassador also had a conversation with Larry Hogan who praised the positive role being played by the Pakistani American residents of Maryland in the state economy and society.

During the event, the Ambassador met several US dignitaries who attended the event including Hogan, Sen Van Hollen, Rep Carson, Rep Ruppersberger, UMMC President Rizwan Siddiqi, an American of Pakistani origin
