Rawalpindi police gift fruit basket to child tortured by step-father

Rawalpindi   -  A team of Rawalpindi police, on behalf of City Police Officer Muhammad Ahsan Younas, visited the house of child Muhammad Tayyab who was mercilessly tortured by step-father for eating fruit without permission, informed a police spokesman on Thursday.

The police team comprising DSP/SDPO Waris Khan Circle Farhan Aslam, SHO Police Station (PS) Banni SI Shafqat and a female police officer presented a basket of fruits, toys, stationery items and bouquet to the victim child, he said.

The police team also enquired about the health of child Tayyab. He was placed under torture by his step-father with a plastic pipe for eating fruit without his permission. CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas, while taking notice on a video which went viral on social media, took action and held the man involved in inhuman incident. 

The CPO also assured the family that police would contact the philanthropists and other departments for donations to continue the studies of the child and his brother.

Following the police team, DC Rawalpindi Capt (R) Anwaar Ul Haq and Zumurad Khan also visited the house of Tayyab and gave him cash, fruits and gifts.

A police source said that the officials of PS Banni have again arrested the step-father of the child and put him behind the bars.
