Twenty people have been killed including Maulana Noor Muhammad ex-Member of National Assembly and 19 other sustained injuries as a result of powerful explosion in Wana Bazaar, South Waziristan Monday. According to Media reports it was a suicide attack on a mosque of Maulana Noor Muhammad. The Mosque is situated in a crowded Bazaar. The reports claim that the explosion occurred when people were coming out of the mosque after prayers. The number of people present on the occasion exceeds hundreds. Report adds that it was a high intensity explosion, therefore most of the injured are in critical condition, which might lead to more causalities. The shrapnel has dismembered most of them tells an eye witness. The wounded persons have been injured in Wana hospital. The political administration confirming that the target of the attack was Maulana Noor has said that seven people have been killed in the attack. Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Federal Ministers and other political leadership has strongly denounced the attack in Wana and made it clear that such cowardly attack could not shake the will of government against the war on terror. They said whole Nation was united against the terrorism and fully resolved to culminate the war to its logical end no matter how heavy the cost was. The president has directed the concerned agencies to extend all possible medical aid to the wounded. He also directed for investigation of the incident and submission of report. The national leadership including Speaker, Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Chairman, Deputy Chairman Senate, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Mian Manzoor Watto, Senator Waqar, Nawaz Sharif, and Imran Khan Shahbaz Sharif have strongly denounced the attack.
