Flooding has forced the evacuation of 253,500 people in China's Liaoning province after heavy rains caused the Yalu river to breach its banks, state media said. More rain was expected to pound the region, which borders North Korea, and threatened to trigger more flooding, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. An official with the flood control headquarters in Dandong city said three people were missing. North Korea's Korean Central News Agency said rain and water from the overflowing Yalu swamped houses, public buildings and farms in over five villages near Sinuiju, the city opposite Dandong.
