LAHORE - Four accused men gunned down their 35-year-old cousin, father of one, over old enmity in Harbanspura Police limits on Sunday, police said. As per details, the deceased Asghar Ali was sitting at his milk shop when assailants opened fire, killing him on the spot. They escaped from the scene on two motorcycles while making aerial firing. According to Akhtar Ali, brother of the deceased, accused Imran and Kali reached the spot and opened firing on Asghar with their automatic 30 bore pistol. He said Imrans brothers Hakim Ali and Phammu were standing on the turn of the street to give protection to Imran. He said that within no time they fled after killing his brother, adding that they took Asghar to the hospital but in the way he breathed his last. Sources close to the police investigators said that Asghar had released after completing his 25 years conviction for allegedly murdering a brother of the deceased in Gole, a village of Ferozewala. Police sources said that Asghar Ali had killed Sakhawat for teasing their sister despite repeatedly stopping him. He was released in 2009 and shifted with his family in Harbanspura as safety measure. Harbanspura police have registered an FIR against four nominated accused with no arrest so far. The body was sent to City mortuary for autopsy. Further investigations were underway.
