PML-Q condemns Sialkot incident

LAHORE - Senior leader of PML-Q Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi condemning the Sialkot incident has demanded that the judicial inquiry into the matter should be initiated from Gujranwala, as people without providing an opportunity of a judicial trial were killed in police encounter in Gujranwala. In a press statement issued on Sunday, he observed that incidents like Sialkot might not be occurred if the persons involved in Gujranwala incident were held accountable for their illegal deeds. Alleging the police officials team of CM Punjab for staging fake encounters and desecration of dead bodies after the encounters, he said that common masses had also got the courage to take the law into their own hands. Senior PML-Q leader claimed that the sitting CM Punjab has set the trend of fake police encounters in his last tenure and still continuing the same practice. He further claimed that the CM interviews a police officer before deputing him and asked the police officer whether he was ready for fake police encounters or not. Pervaiz asserted that he during his tenure brought reforms in police to control the crime rate instead of ordering the police officers to stage fake encounters. He said that writ of the law would be challenged when the chief executive of the province would encourage the police encounters. He said that he had directed the partys Lawyers Wing to appear before the inquiry commission of Sialkot incident to identify the persons who set the trend of staged police encounters.
