Protest day against death of two brothers

LAHORE - The JI Chief, Syed Munawar Hasan and Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch have appealed to the people to observe Friday, August 27 as Protest Day against lynching of two brothers in Sialkot. In a joint statement issued on Sunday, they said it was a gruesome incident that occurred in the presence of the police, which did not try to save the boys. The JI leaders also accused the police of protecting its personnel and helping them in escape after arrest. They demanded immediate suspension and arrest of all the police personnel who helped in escaping of their arrested cops. They claimed that Punjab had turned into a Police state and there was no body to protect the life and property of the common man. The JI leaders said the incident was watched on television all over the world and brought a bad name to the entire nation.
