Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) justice retired Fakharuddin G. Ibrahim on Thursday said that he wanted to bring a fundamental change in the system through holding free and fair general elections in the country.

Talking to Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief justice Mashir Alam during a meeting, Fakharuddin said that he accepted the office of chief election commissioner as challenge, he with help of lawyers community could fulfil his responsibilities and bring change in the system. He urged the lawyers to play their roles to encourage people to get themselves enrol in voter lists and to convince the people to cast vote which is their basic right.

The CEC also exchanged Eid greetings with the SHC chief justice Mashir Alam during meeting.
