LAHORE – District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal has warned the owners of private schools to arrange cleanliness arrangements properly and to help city district government staff in anti-dengue campaign otherwise their schools will be sealed.
He issued this statement in view of opening schools after summer vacations. The DCO also directed to Education Department to monitor Anti-Dengue Campaign properly in government and private schools and pay regular visits of all the educational institutes in this regard. He directed to follow all “SOPs” of Anti-Dengue Campaign. On the other hand a meeting was held at Educational Complex, which was chaired by EDO (Education) Lahore Dr. Pervaiz Akhtar. He directed DO (E), DDOs (E), AE (O) and Zonal Incharges of Education Department to maintain cleanliness in schools and to visit Private and Government schools regularly.
Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer Noor-ul-Amin Mengal visited Dar-ul-Shaqat on Eid day and spent some time along with children. He was accompanied by MPA Kh. Salman Rafiq. Kh. Salman Rafiq. The DCO distributed Eid gifts among children on the occasion and said them to get education to become useful and healthy citizens. He said that City District Government was looking after all children and providing them all basic facilities. More over the DCO also visited Dar-ul-Amaan along with MPA Kh. Salman Rafiq and Assistant commissioner Saira Umer. He checked cleanliness arrangements at Dar-ul-Amaan and directed its management to provide essential items of better quality to women. On this occasion Assistant Commissioner Saira Umer distributed Eid gifts among women of in Dar-ul-Amaan.
Further, District Coordination Officer visited different areas of city to monitor arrangements regarding Anti-Dengue Campaign on Wednesday afternoon. DCO also visited Mughalpura Dry Port and monitored the spray process over the presence of Dengue larva in above said area. On this spot, He directed sanitary Inspector Muhammad Ali to work whole heatedly. He also visited Ravi Town where he suspended Deputy District Officer (Health) Dr. Sajid Ali due to absence from his duty. DCO Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal also visited Sheranwala, Yaki and Dehli Gate and checked cleanliness arrangements. DCO during his visit to Vocational Education School Yaki Gate showed his un-satisfaction over poor cleanliness arrangements and ordered police to get registered an FIR against its Principle, Madam Nagina. Mr Noor-ul-Amin showed his displeasure over bad performance of Lahore Waste Management Company and its officers in Anti-Dengue Campaign. Mr. Noor-ul-Amin Mengal said on this occasion that it was the topmost responsibility of government servants to serve the citizens and employees and officers of City District Government Lahore had done well by working hard even in Eid holidays.
Also, Mengal said the City District Government had been continuing its crackdown against sheesha cafes located in city on Wednesday. He said that Staff Officer Tariq Zaman and Haris Jalil had raided on sheesha cafes located at M.M Alam road. Both officers sealed two cafes and recovered 43 “Huqas” and took them in to their possession. Those cafes while were sealed are Royal Lounge and Olive Grill cafes.
All private institutions which did not happen to cooperative in dengue control campaign initiated by the Punjab government will be closed. It was decided in a meeting presided over by Executive District Officer (EDO) Education Parvez Akhtar and attended by DOs and DDOs. It was also decided in the meeting that all government and private schools would strictly follow the Punjab government’s dengue control program.
The EDO also ordered to display dengue free certificates on the school buildings.
