SWABI - Muqaddam Khan - A distinguished leader of Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) and all his family was killed, while five other people died in separate incidents on the Eid day.

Mian Raiz Bacha, president of PPP-S local chapter in constituency PK-33, Swabi-111, along with his family was on his way to Nathiagali to spend Eid holidays there.

His brother told this correspondent that Riaz Bacha, his wife, two young daughters, a son and a nephew were travelling on their car. Riaz was himself driving the vehicle and when they reached near Baghnuthar on Nathiagali-Abbottabad road, he lost control over the car.

The car went rolling down from the high ground. Riaz, his wife, their daughters and the nine-year-old son were killed on the spot. His nephew, Mian Farhad Bacha, got injured but the doctors said that he was recovering. The elder girl was studying at a college in Peshawar and the other was in class 10, while the boy son, Mian Musharraf Bacha, was a class 4 student in a private school.

From Baghnuthar, their dead bodies were brought to the Abbottabad hospital and later shifted to their native village Dobain and buried at night. It has been learnt no one remained in his family and all five-member of his family perished in the gory incident. In another road accident, two motorcyclists, Jalal Khan and Rizwan Khan, were killed when they bike collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Chota Lahor-Adina road. Jalal was killed on the spot while Rizwan was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. A minor, Hina Begum, and Ishaq Khan were also injured in the accident. The driver fled the scene however police seized vehicle. An FIR has been registered.

In Daulat village, Zulfiqar Ali Khan was killed when his relatives opened fire at him. He was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His brother lodged an FIR against their relatives, citing an old dispute over the relations with a woman as the reason.

A six-year-old boy drowned in the River Indus. He came from Ghazi, a sub-Tehsil of Haripur district, along with their parents to a riverside hotel here and started bathing but slipped into deep water. His dead body was later retrieved.

Separately, a young boy committed suicide in Tordher village by shooting himself with his Kalashnikov. Police confirmed the incident but refused to disclose the name of the deceased.
