MANDI BHUIDDIAN (PR) - The President of Pakistan announced Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Provincial Director and Director General International Relations, CPSP, in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of medical education on the occasion of 66th Independence Day.

Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, graduate of KEMC, fellow of CPSP and elected Councillor for the last seven years and Provincial Director, Director General International Relations and former Vice President of CPSP.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan is the main postgraduate institution of the country which has produced 19,000 specialists who are rendering services within the country and abroad. He has 60 national arid international publications to his credit and has presented more than 30 papers on National and International forums. Higher Education Commission of Pakistani has nominated him as focal person for research in the subject of surgery in the country. He has been an examiner for final fellowship examination in the country and abroad. Besides being Fellow of College Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons and College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka have awarded him with honorary fellowships. In addition to these clinical responsibilities, his special interest is in the field of medical education in which he holds post graduation (MCPS HPE).

He played a pivotal role in supervising and implementing the new structured residency program in order to provide the best structured training to the doctors through training courses and effective electronic monitoring.
