The Citizens Association has called upon the district administration and the health department to ensure early fumigation in narrow streets, open drains and ponds to eliminate mosquitoes which are invading the citizens during nights.

They said that mere holding of seminars and walks would not be sufficient to prevent dengue fever or to eliminate dengue mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, the Health Department in coordination with different department launched a campaign to create awareness among the public to save them from dengue fever.  In this connection, a seminar was held in the Jinnah Hall Hafizabad in which EDO Health Dr Farooq-e-Azam Tarar, Dr Irshadullah, medical superintendent of DHQ Hospital, Entomologist Fatima Haq and others called upon the citizens to create awareness among the public to save them from dengue. A walk was also held in this connection.

RAPE ACCUSED HELD:

The city police have arrested the owner of a marriage hall on the charge of forcibly raping a married woman in Mohallah Akhtar Town Kolo Road Hafizabad.

According to the FIR, accused Muhammad Bashir Mallah intruded into the house of Muhammad Umar when he was away from the house and allegedly raped his newlywed wife (S) forcibly. On the report of the victim and her husband, the city police have registered a case against the accused and arrested him.
