LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday donated funds of Rs50 million on behalf of the Punjab government for construction of Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam in Johar Town. The cheque was presented by Secretary to PM Nabeel Aiwan to the NPT Chairman Dr Majid Nizami. NPT Vice Chairman Dr Rafique Ahmad, Mian Farooq Altaf, Secretary Shahid Rasheed and others were also present on the occasion.

Dr Nizami lauding the passion of the CM said that the aiwan is being built under the auspices of the NPT.  He said his conscience always pricked him at the thought that there was no memorial to preserve the memory of the Quaid-i-Azam. He assured that after a little remaining construction, it would become fully operational to disseminating the light of knowledge. He prayed for the success of the noble mission of the NPT. The construction of the aiwan is a truly historical matter. This aiwan is going to remind us of founder of state as well as our duty to manage the affairs of our country in accordance with the views of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

He said that the aiwan would prove to be a university for the dissemination of ideological education about Pakistan. He also criticised the evil troika of Israel, India and the US that led to anti-Pakistan activities. He said over 1,300,000 students were the beneficiaries of the NPTs awareness campaign.
