Islamabad- Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid says government would not tolerate any hurdle in smooth running of TV channels transmission on cable network.
In a statement in Islamabad he said that disturbance in transmission of any TV channel on the part of cable operators was an illegal act as it deprives the masses of their right to information. He said it is also clear violation of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority rules. The minister said closure of the transmission of any TV channel tantamount to curb the freedom of expression. Pervaiz Rashid said he has directed PEMRA to cancel licenses of those cable operators involved in illegal stoppage of transmission of any channel.
