A failing society

A society fails when it does not anticipate a problem. We failed to foresee that our proxies could one day undertake activities that are not in the interest of Pakistan.
A society fails when it fails to perceive the problem. Terrorists have killed 37,354 Pakistanis in 2,757 bomb blasts and 284 suicide attacks and yet as a society we have failed to identify the enemy.
Thirdly, a society fails when the interest of the decision making elite clash with the interests of the rest of the society. Our elite make selfish decisions and the nation faces the repercussions of their flawed strategy.
Lastly, a society fails when the problem becomes too large and the society, even after recognising it, lacks the capacity to resolve it.
