Homage paid to Shuja Khanzada

LAHORE - Religious scholars have paid homage to the services of late Punjab home minister Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada.
They have demanded of the government to change the name Ghaddafi Stadium as Shuja Khanzada Stadium.
A condolence reference was organised by Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) on Saturday for Khanzada, who was killed in a suicide attack last week.
MWM leader Allama Mubarik Mosvi said it was regrettable that Shia and Brelvi population were being targeted by those opposed the making of Pakistan.
Indirectly hinting towards seminaries of other schools of thought, he added the arrest of the Shuja’s murderers from madaris exposed the extremist groups were backing terrorism in the country.
Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaqat Baloch, however, stressed for the unity among the people of Pakistan. He said terrorism has no place in Islam and the killing of Shuja Khanzada was a great loss to the country.
He paid tribute the services of late minister and said the war against terror must continue till the elimination of every terrorist.
Baloch stressed the need to understand the conspiracies against the country by western powers and India. He said the sectarian violence among Muslims was being promoted by the enemies of Islam and those killing the innocent people were also the enemies of Pakistan and Islam.
Allama Raghib Naeemi, Pir Ghulam Rasool, Dr Amjad Chishti and other scholars also spoke on the occasion.
