ISLAMABAD - Mushaal Hussein Mullick has criticised India for not allowing Kashmiri leaders to meet Pakistan PM’s advisor on security and foreign affairs at Pakistan High Commission during his expected visit to New Delhi.
Mullick, chairperson of Peace & Culture Organisation, said this move is a violation of human rights and an attempt to increase the tension between Pakistan and India. She pointed out that in spite of the proper invitation from the Pakistani High Commission to the Kashmiri Hurriat leadership the act is unlawful and inhuman, which has once again established that India is not serious about the talks with Pakistan.
“Such tactics on the Indian side are not new,” she said in a statement yesterday adding, at every important event the Kashmiri Hurriat leadership is put under house arrest or kept in jails to silence their genuine voice. “As India has long series of atrocities and misdeeds in Occupied Kashmir so the act was not unexpected,” she said.
Mushaal further said that there is a grave need to feel the pain the innocent Kashmiris are suffering from at the hands of Indian security forces in Occupied Kashmir. She urged the United Nations to ensure implementation of its resolutions on Kashmir allowing the right of plebiscite to the Kashmiri people decide about their fate.
“It is also the responsibility of all civilized nations to put pressure on India to not only free the detained Kashmiri leadership but also allow them to meet Sartaj Aziz during his upcoming visit to New Delhi,” she said.
