NBP thrash Police 7-0 in Gold Cup Hockey

LAHORE - The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) outplayed Police by seven goals to nil in the opening match of NBP Gold Cup Hockey Tournament at National Hockey Stadium here on Monday. Chairperson Chief Minister's Task Force on Sports Punjab Niva Usman inaugurated the tournament along with NBP officials. Penalty-corner specialist of NBP, Imran Warsi converted three goals on penalty corners. At the end of the first half, the score was 3-0 in favour of NBP. Imran Warsi scored goals in 5th, 36th and 56th minutes on penalty corners. Forward Tariq Aziz scored two field goals in 7th and 50th minutes, while Haseem Khan and Akhtar Ali scored one goal each in 13th and 48th minutes respectively. On the second day of the tournament seven more matches will be played.
