CPJ slams bombing of Peshawar Press Club

EW YORK - The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent watchdog body, Tuesday condemned the suicide bombing of the Press Club building in Peshawar. We condemn this horrific attack. This is clearly an outright assault on local journalists working in the most troubled part of Pakistan the border areas with Afghanistan , Bob Dietz , CPJs Asia programme coordinator, said in a statement in New York. The reporters there have been under pressure for years from all sides to the conflict, but this marks one of the worst, most overt attempts to silence the media there.
