PTI favours delimitation of Karachi, says Imran Khan


KARACHI - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan while targeting his rival parties said that Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz are involved in corruption which is the main hindrance in way of any positive change in the country.
Talking to media persons and addressing a number of gatherings here on Saturday, the PTI chairman alleged that more than 67 per cent lawmakers do not pay taxes as they are hiding their assets.
He claimed that nation is tired of current politicians and want a change now. He said that police and Federal Board of Revenue were being used for wrong purposes and whoever joins PTI, fake cases are opened against them.
Imran Khan arrived here on Saturday on a three-day visit of Sindh.
When asked about delimitation in Karachi, the PTI chairman extended support to the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan for initiating delimitation and door-to-door verification of voter lists in the City, adding that it should be done in the areas where it is required. He said that there was no government existed in the province of Balochistan as law and order situation had become worsened.
Khan termed the rising corruption as biggest problem facing the country, reiterating his commitment that whenever his party came in the power’ its top most priority would be to root out corruption. He further said that his party would initiate a process of accountability for those evading the tax.
The PTI chief opposed the appointment of Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood as governor of Punjab. He said President Asif Ali Zardari’s choice to make Makhdoom Ahmed as governor was due to his (Makhdoom) political rivalry to PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.
Meanwhile, Sindh Minister for Mines and Minerals, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, has asked the workers of Pakistan People’s Party as well as the political workers to work devotedly for fostering democracy and politics of reconciliation. He was talking to the workers of the PPP in his office here the other day.
The minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari was successfully moving ahead for forging consensus among the democratic forces and politics of reconciliation in accordance with the vision of Benazir Bhutto. He said that the wisdom and sagacity of the PPP has steered the country out of the crisis and challenges.
Wassan was of the view that this is the time that the PPP workers as well as the political workers should work devotedly for fostering democracy and politics of reconciliation.
He also condemned the recent attacks on those involved in anti-polio campaign and said that this tantamount to depriving the younger generation of health facilities.
