Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin announced on Tuesday that he is resigning from his post but will continue to stay in office until the end of the month. Earlier on Tuesday, government officials had stated that Tarin is stepping down to focus on his private banking interests. He said he needs to focus on his business and that he can't do both things at the same time, said a government official who declined to be identified. Tarins resignation is not expected to destabilise the government but international donors will be keen to see a respected minister appointed in his place.
