The half centuries by Misbah and Umar Akmal propelled Pakistan to reach 317 for 7 against Kenya in the sixth match of ICC Cricket World Cup at Hambantota in Sri Lanka. Misbah ul Haq and Umar Akmal brought up the team's 200 in the 40th over and looked to up the ante in the last 10 overs with the batting powerplay which yielded 117 runs for Pakistan from 50 overs. Misbah joined Younis Khan after Kamran Akmal's (55) dismissal to propel Pakistan to over 150 but Younis got out lbw just when Pakistan looked good for a big total. Wicketkeeper batsman Akmal made a timely half century but was unfortunate to be stumped after pulling Pakistan out of trouble with a 98-run third-wicket partnership with Younis. Earlier, Pakistan made the most unauspicious start to their campaign as they lost both Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmad Shahzad inside 10 overs to discpilined bowling by Kenyan new-ball bowlers.
