OKARA - The Pattoki Police allegedly threw a disabled boy into Lower Bari Doab Canal while declaring him a proclaimed offender.
The protesting relatives of the victim blocked Akbar Road by burning tyres on it and demanded the recovery of dead body and arrest of responsible police officials.
Reportedly, 17-year-old Fiaz Ahmad, son of Irshad and resident of Faizabad was disabled with one leg. On the day of incident he went to the said canal to graze his buffaloes, where the Pattoki Police were chasing a proclaimed offender but they arrested Fiaz. The source alleged that the police, after lashing him brutally, threw him into the canal. On getting informed of the incident, the relatives of the victim protested against the police and blocked the road. In the meantime, Division- A Police reached there to control the demonstrators, but the enraged women started beating the cops.
The victim’s brother Ijaz alleged that the Pattoki Police made the real criminal flee after getting bribery. DPO Dr Abid Raja assured the protesters of taking stern action against the accused police officials.
Successor of Darbar Baba Baloch killed: The successor of Darbar Baba Baloch was killed and burnt by some unknown people here Wednesday. The sources said Saqib Shah lived at Darbar of Baba Baluch. At night of incident, he was sleeping in there when some men killed him and set him ablaze.
