ISLAMABAD – Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, on Wednesday said that role of spy agencies should be limited as they are further annoying already outraged people of Balochistan.

“Time has come to change old wrong policies as it is creating unrest among the people. Family members of arrested people should be informed about the location where they are placed,” said Liaqat Baloch, during his visit to the protest camp of missing persons’ family members to express solidarity with them.

“Balochistan is the sensitive area of the country and youth of this province are fast going toward rebellious way because of continuous unrest situation,” he said adding that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is devouring for the recovery of missing persons of the country as it has presented a bill in the parliament for this purpose. The bill says that the unlimited powers of these agencies should be limited and family member of missing persons be informed about the location of the arrested persons. JI leader said that they would try to arrange a national level Jirga involving President, Prime Minister, chief Justice and Army Chief for the early recovery of missing persons of the country.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) was the first political party to stage protest for missing persons and political leaders PML(N) and PPP were also there.  “It is strange now when PPP is in power it is indifferent about the missing persons of the country,” he maintained. Liaqat Baloch strongly criticized the resolution regarding Balochistan in Congress, saying that it has become sin now to voice against US that is trying to ruin resources of Pakistan.
